DOT annual inspections are a critical requirement for all Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) and trailers hauled by CMVs, as mandated by FMCSR 396.17. This regulation ensures that every vehicle engaged in commercial operations adheres to the highest safety and maintenance standards, safeguarding both the operators and the public. As a vehicle owner or operator, it is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicles and equipment are not just current on their inspections but that these inspections are conducted by a Qualified Inspector. This adherence is not just about compliance; it's about prioritizing safety, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that your fleet operates efficiently and without interruption.

Any driven or towed vehicle/trailer that transports property or passengers in interstate commerce and meets the following criteria: vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 or more pounds; vehicles that hold and transport 16 or more passengers (including drivers); trucks and motor carriers that move hazardous materials; passenger or school buses.

We will inspect everything required by FMCSR 396.17: Every commercial motor vehicle must be inspected as required by this section. The inspection must include, at a minimum, the parts and accessories outlined in Appendix A: brake systems (service brakes such as electric brakes, hydraulic brakes, automatic brake adjusters, the antilock brake system, and the parking brake system as a whole); coupling devices; exhaust systems; fuel systems; lighting devices; safe loading; steering mechanism; suspension; frame; tires; wheels and rims; windshield; any other conditions that might prevent the safe operation of the CMV.

You will receive an immediate electronic report to the designated email for your inspection. If your unit passes, you should keep that report in the glove compartment of your asset. If your unit fails, you will have a detailed report of what needs to be corrected so that you may schedule repairs at a nearby facility. once the repairs are completed, Yoshi offers a follow up inspection for a reduced cost.

If your unit passes the inspection, our certified technician will mail out a pre-filled label outlining the inspection details, which typically arrives within 3-5 business days.

Although our certified mechanic and AI powered technology has a visual of all the components being inspected from the video feed, there are a few "hands on" component required from the customer. The customer will be required to get down towards the ground to provide a visual of the suspension and components underneath the asset. In addition there are a few tasks required related to measuring tire tread depths and providing a visual of all the lights around the unit. However don't worry our technician will simplify this and walk you through the entire process step by step.
