Bosch Track-and-Trace is an IoT solution that provides information about the position and status of logistical objects.

Bosch Track-and-Trace make logistical objects and assets intelligent by using sensors, gateways, and additional services. It helps asset and material planners, logistics managers and other logistics partners to digitally track high-quality assets and time-critical and sensitive material in real time throughout the entire supply chain. This creates unparalleled transparency and offers numerous benefits for all companies (e.g. OEMs, producers, suppliers, shipping companies, logistics companies) involved in the network:

  • Reduces time spent on searching, booking, and inventorying
  • Makes planning more reliable

The acquired data provides the basis for analyses that help to benefit from the benefits described-above. The Bosch Track-and-Trace web portal has multiple options to display data and reports. Alternatively, data can be provided via a standard outbound data service (ODS) based on JSON data which allows to connect customer systems like ERP, WMS or TMS.

"Asset inventory" report

The overview of available assets in different locations, grouped by asset type helps to transport assets more efficiently between locations in order to reduce bottlenecks. The goal is to decrease total costs by reducing the manual search effort during inventory.

"Asset productivity" report

Unused assets in different locations, grouped by asset type as well as locations with long asset standing times can be identified. This helps to improve asset productivity by eliminating low performing assets and by optimizing asset consumption planning.

"Asset loss" report

Responsible parties for lost assets can be detected. Search actions can be triggered and countermeasures initiated timely.

"Asset network" report

Inefficient points in asset networks can be identified which help to maintain a transparent asset network and to detect high down- and transport times.

No, Bosch Track-and-Trace can be implemented via Plug-and-Play which means the effort for a first implementation is done in minutes/hours and there is no need for an IT project, as an integration into the local IT network is not required in any way. The gateways are connected to the Bosch Track-and-Trace cloud via mobile radio (2G and CatM1/ LTE-M) which ensures global availability and deployments without downtimes.

Sensors have a useful life of up to 8 years, depending on the type of Sensor.Rechargeable gateways allow approx. 5.000 trackings per recharge. If connected to domestic power or solar runtime is unlimited.Gateways with non-rechargeable batteries can last up to 8 years depending on customer requirement.
