BigChillar is a logistics technology start-up based in Pune solving perennial problems of intermediary exploitation and working capital stress of small fleet owners in India. 85% of 15 Mn strong trucks in India belong to unorganised segment of Small Fleet owners in India and fulfil road movements worth almost $250 Mn USD. This segment, with majority failing to make it to a reliable credit score, is traditionally treated as banking untouchables. Due to working capital stress they are almost fully dependent on the Intermediaries like a booking agent, a transporter or an aggregator for sourcing their business creating substantial erosion in margins.
On the demand side, small and medium enterprises in India also fail to connect directly with fleet owners for their transportation needs and are majorly dependent on intermediaries. BigChillar is solving this demand supply gap by addressing the root cause of “working capital deficiency” for small fleet owners and enabling them to do direct business with SME sector in India.
